    Jarnail Singh????

Personally I will never attend another game this man "Referees"

The mans a disgrace to football and a danger to the players IMO....I certainly wouldn't like to think i was relying on him to stop the game quickly if i'd had a clash of heads and swallowed my tongue!

I don't blame him for our defeat yesterday but remember this is the SECOND time he's allowed play to continue while one of our players has being felled with a head injury, the other being Schumacher at VP against Oldham a few years ago.

I can't understand how the man gets away with such appalling decisions almost EVERY game he officiates if reports from other supporters are to be believed.

All I can say is im sure if he weren't a token "ethnic" he wouldn't get anywhere near refereeing a football league match!

How long before his actions leave a player seriously injured or even killed?

Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible coont... me.

    Re: Jarnail Singh????

    I agree completely Parrot!

Someone said yesterday that there wasn't enough time between the head clash and the goal for the referee to stop the game, I think that's bollocks! There was a good 5 seconds (at least) for Singh to blow up but he should've stopped the game immediately anyway! I know he didn't know how serious the injury was but head injuries can be life threatening and should be treated like that!

It wasn't just that incident that annoyed me though, throughout the game he got decisions wrong, there was a blatant penalty (hand ball) and he kept getting in the way of the ball. Shrewsbury were the better team, but Singh is by far the worst professional referee I've seen!

    Re: Jarnail Singh????

Having very recently done a referee course, I can tell you that there are 2 things that the FA encourage a ref to stop a game for immediately. One is a player bleeding. He has to leave the field straight away and can't come back until he's stopped bleeding and all bloody clothing changed. THE OTHER IS HEAD INJURIES! When a player goes down injured, the ref needs to decide within a second or 2 whether it's a serious injury or not. Of course, a ref is not a trained doctor or paramedic so he has to use his experience and judgement. That's all very well for some if not most injuries. In the case of a head injury however, the advice is to stop the game straight away and get the physio on. In this case, there was not 1 but 2 players who went down with obvious head injuries and he allowed the game to continue. In my opinion he's failed in his duty of care to those players, as the physio is not allowed on the pitch until he waves them on. This would perhaps be excusable for a ref if this was a new rule open to interpretation. It isn't. Furthermore, as Parrot pointed out, the same ref was guilty of the same thing a couple of seasons back against Oldham at Valley Parade. So that's 2 instances involving us...does this guy not get feedback when he's gone wrong? Was he given feedback? Even worse...if he's doing this for us, is he doing it everywhere else too? Probably. This ref needs coaching on the correct protocol for the safety of the players sake. I sincerely hope this is followed up to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Hi Parrot. This is a very disturbing post obviously made in good faith, and I wonder if the club have the same view and if they have followed up with an official complaint.Coming soon after the last complaint which resulted in a referees apology, this might be appropriate.
The question of his competency needs to be addressed and can't be ignored. The head injury could have been very serious and his inaction could have caused further problems because of the time factor.
The other worrying aspect is the "token ethnic". What's the country come to if it allows that? Surely ability is the only criteria. Do they not have assessors in the stand at every match?
Maybe you might write to Mark Lawn to see if the club have registered a complaint. It sure sounds like it needs to be debated in the open and not just our message board. Cheers.

there are supposed to be assessors marking the ref#s performance, plus the 4th official on the sidelines.
They are not professionals are they? - I thought they get token payments for their time plus expenses - unlike the Premier League where it's a different set up altogether - maybe someone can confirm that?

Terry Dolan is an assessor and on Saturday he was totally bewildered by Singhs performance although he said he had to choose his words carefully

There's 2 seconds between the initial shot and the collision - 4 seconds between the goal & collision.

Im not sure but thats the only logical conclusion i can come up with why this Referees allowed to officiate games in the Football League so badly?

Surely theres better Asian or ethnic Referees out there than this imbecile?

    Re: Jarnail Singh????

He's a crap referee, I think I remember him officiating a game at home last season or the season before where he blew up for nearly every little decision.

He's an extremely poor referee and viewing the video of the first goal, it's dangerous that he allowed play to continue for even a second.

    Re: Jarnail Singh????

I got this from a link on the omb.. not sure if anyone has seen it.. (I can't vouch for whether it has been edited of course - nor can I see anything on the FA website)..

When Shrewsbury Town met Bradford City in a Football League Two match at the Prostar Stadium on 28 September 2008, Singh failed to stop play when Graeme Lee and TJ Moncur clashed heads, leaving both players prostrate on the floor. Approximately 13 minutes later Moncur fell to the ground and appeared to be suffering a fit as a direct result of the clash of heads. He was taken to hospital following his removal from the field but was later cleared of any serious injury. The following day, Singh was suspended by the FA with further action yet to be decided.

interesting to see on the video that 2 shrewsbury players were more concerned about the city players laid out than celebrating the goal - there was deffo enough time to stop the game for an alert and reasonable referee.

It looks even worse on the highlights than it did at the game.

Moncur looks like he's had a KO punch from Mike Tyson ffs!

    Horrendous decision by the "Ref"
